FRESNO -- Being asked to deliver an encore performance following what many historians considered to be the greatest race produced by a high school girls' cross country runner might have been too lofty a request even for an immense talent like Sarah Baxter.

But the Simi Valley junior did her best to oblige Saturday, producing another record-setting race on one of the most prestigious courses in California.

After setting the all-time 2.94-mile Mount San Antonio College course record Oct. 20, Baxter demonstrated she was up to the challenge again five weeks later, posting the fastest time ever by a prep female on the 5-kilometer layout at Woodward Park.
